A champion of immigration reform, Durbin introduced the Dream Act over 20 years ago and helped establish DACA. He played a pivotal role in passing the First Step Act, a criminal justice reform law, and was instrumental in confirming Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Durbin has also worked tirelessly for Illinois' infrastructure, health care, and veterans' issues. He serves on the Senate Judiciary, Appropriations, and Agriculture Committees and has represented Illinois in the Senate since 1997. Durbin resides in Springfield with his wife Loretta and their family.
