Michael B. Enzi (1944–2021) served as a U.S. Senator from Wyoming from January 3, 1997, to January 3, 2021. Before his Senate tenure, he was the mayor of Gillette, Wyoming, and served in the Wyoming State House and Senate. Enzi, known for his focus on budgetary and education issues, chaired the Senate Committee on Budget and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions during his time in office. He passed away on July 26, 2021, in Gillette, Wyoming, following a bicycle accident.
