“Lisa Murkowski is Alaska’s senior U.S. Senator and the first Alaskan-born senator. Born in Ketchikan, Alaska, she was raised in various Alaskan towns. A leader on energy and public lands issues, she advocates for policies that support domestic energy production, renewable energy, and Arctic strategy. Murkowski has pushed for the expansion of America's icebreaker fleet and stronger U.S. presence in the Arctic.
