Born in 1956 in Washington, D.C., and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, he grew up influenced by his father, Lawrence J. Hogan Sr., a congressman known for his integrity during the Watergate scandal. Hogan attended Florida State University, earning a degree in Government, and later founded The Hogan Companies, a successful real estate development firm. As governor, Hogan championed bipartisan cooperation, fiscal responsibility, and economic growth. He was the first Republican in over 50 years to be reelected as Maryland's governor. Hogan lives with his wife, Yumi, and their three daughters.
